This is your chance to step into the spotlight—or behind it—and be part of something unforgettable.
What’s in it for you?
Your own senior production every year, cast exclusively from our senior members.
A combined show (like a pantomime) where juniors and seniors work together—building friendships, learning from each other, and creating something magical as one big whānau.
Choose your role: onstage, backstage, or offstage. Whether you want to act, sing, dance, design sets, run lights, manage costumes, or even help lead the organisation, there’s a place for you.
Mentorship: you’ll be paired with experienced adults to learn new skills—performance, directing, stagecraft, leadership, and more.
What We Expect From You
Being in the senior section means stepping up. We’ll support you, but we’ll also look for you to:
Lead by example
Ask smart questions and share thoughtful ideas
Build community spirit
Take on responsibility and grow into leadership roles
It’s about more than theatre—it’s about becoming confident, creative, and capable young adults.
Our Values
At YouBeYou, everyone is welcome. We celebrate differences and believe they make us stronger. No matter your ability, identity, ethnicity, faith, or background—you belong here. This is a space where you can be yourself, without fear, and find joy in creating something together.
Why Join?
Because theatre isn’t just about the show—it’s about the friendships, the laughter, the skills you’ll carry for life, and the pride of knowing you were part of something bigger. Years from now, you’ll look back and remember the magic, the belonging, and the happiness of being yourself with YouBeYou.
So come along. Make friends. Learn new skills. Be part of the magic.
Parents, We Need You Too
If your teen joins, we’d love you to sign up as an adult member. We need directors, choreographers, set builders, costume designers, organisers, and supporters. Even if your role is simply standing at the back, crying with pride—we want you on the team.
